FAQ

Everything you need to know about BuddyWish.

Is BuddyWish free?

Yes, completely free to use. Create a list, share it, and your family and friends can claim items at no cost.

Do buyers need an account?

Nope. Anyone with your share link can view your list and claim items without signing up for anything.

How does the reveal work?

When you create a list you pick a reveal delay: 24 hours, 48 hours, or 1 week after your event date. Until that time passes, nobody sees who bought what. After it unlocks, you can see the full breakdown of who got you each gift.

What if someone claims an item but never buys it?

When a buyer claims an item they get sent to the store to buy it, then come back to confirm the purchase. If they don't confirm, the item stays claimed. Buyers can also release an item back to the list if they change their mind.

Can I add items from any store?

Yes. Paste any product URL and BuddyWish will try to automatically pull the product name and price. You can also add items manually without a link.

What is a group gift?

A group gift lets multiple people chip in toward one item. Set a price goal and buyers can each contribute any amount. The item shows a funding progress bar so everyone can see how close you are.

Can I stay anonymous as a buyer?

Yes. When claiming an item you can check the anonymous option and you'll show up as 'A mystery gifter' on reveal day.

Can I import my Amazon or Target wishlist?

Yes. Go to the Import page from your list and follow the step by step guide for your platform. You can download a CSV from most major registries and upload it directly to BuddyWish.

Can I share my list by link?

Yes. From your list page click the Share list button to copy a direct link. Anyone who taps it goes straight to your list without needing to enter a code.

What happens to my list after the event?

Your list stays active and you can keep adding items or sharing it. The reveal just unlocks after the event date — the list itself doesn't disappear.

Who is Buddy?

Buddy is the senior dog this app is named after. He supervised every line of code and deserves full credit for the good parts.
